Jozy's Story

Meet Jozy. At just 2 days old, Jozy was life flighted from her small town in ND to the big city of Minneapolis, Minnesota. It was there that her family was told of her CPS-1 deficiency disorder affecting her urea cycle. It was there they were told she was the 2nd baby in 10 plus years with the condition at the U of M, and that the first one died before making it to his life-saving liver transplant. Jozy was the second smallest baby listed on the transplant list at just 13 lbs (ideally wanting her to be 20lbs for surgery). After 6 months of fighting and uncertainty, the family finally got the call. It was Jozy's turn for a liver transplant. The family has had some bumps along the way, but she is now almost 11 years old and she is THRIVING!
