Travel Grants

Travel Grants for the 2024 NUCDF Family Conference

Overview

Thanks to a generous donation, NUCDF will offer grants to cover travel expenses for our families to attend the 2024 NUCDF Family Conference. Priority will be given to applicants attending the conference for the first time. Later, if there are travel grants still available, applications from families who have previously attended a conference will be considered. Travel grants are limited to one per family/household. Reimbursement will be made after travel is completed and NUCDF receives receipts.

Application Process

To apply for a travel grant, first register for the conference here. Then, complete the grant application available at the Apply Now link below, including writing two paragraphs describing how you believe attending the conference will affect the lives of you and your family. Applications are reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis. The ideal candidate will also describe their plans to share information learned at the conference with families and/or clinicians at home.

Eligibility & Parameters

A limited number of conference travel grants are available to individuals and families affected by urea cycle disorders and current members of the NUCDF. We hope that our conference travel grant program will provide support to families that may otherwise be unable to attend. While we cannot cover all family travel expenses, we can provide additional support to attendees who need an extra boost in their travel budget in order to attend. The grant amount may vary based on need (family size, distance traveled) and total number of applicants.

Timeline

Application deadline: Sunday, Dec 17, 2023
Notification of grants: Sunday, Dec 29, 2023

Conditions of Acceptance

If you are awarded a conference travel grant, you agree to the following conditions:

  • Conference Registration: You must register for the conference before submitting the grant application.
  • Full Attendance: We request that you attend the entire conference program (Friday afternoon through Sunday) as a travel grant recipient.
  • Sharing your experience: By accepting the travel grant, you agree to complete a post-event survey and provide written reflections, photos, and/or video on your conference experience to NUCDF by May 5th, 2024.  NUCDF may share your feedback to further our mission and promote future events.

Failure to meet the conditions of acceptance may jeopardize your eligibility for future Conference Travel Grants.
